Winchester 1894 Deluxe Takedown, made in 1903, rare .25-35 WCF caliber, with the following special order features: 1) take-down barrel with full length magazine tube, 2) pistol grip stock with hard rubber Winchester grip cap and engraved screw, 3) deluxe walnut stock, 4) factory checkering on butt and Deluxe "H" style wrap checkering on forend. It is also fitted with the desireable "Nickel Steel" barrel for smokeless powder, 26" barrel with adjustable rear sight, octagonal barrel, barrel stamped "Manufactured By The Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Conn. USA, Pat Aug 21, 1894" on top flat ahead of the rear sight, and "Nickel Steel Barrel, Especially For Smokeless Powder" on left flat below the rear sight, 8 lbs. 5 oz., crescent steel butt plate, steel forend tip. This rifle looks to have all original finishes, receiver blue about 70%, barrel blue about 80%, about 10% lever case colors remain, wood has numerous use marks with a few being deeper gauges and impressions, bore looks excellent and pit free, barrel is clean overall but has a few scattered pits on the outside left side at the muzzle. All in all, a rare configuration in a rare caliber. Though not in top collector condition, she's original and frankly she looks like she's lived a marvelous life having started it during Teddy Roosevelt's first presidential term. If she could only tell us stories of her adventures.
