Serape Robe Blanket

While the serape is now part of both Spanish and Native American textiles, it's roots are in the Mexican weaving tradition.  Most commonly, the serape is woven of fine yarns that allow it to be lighter in weight than other blankets and with shows unbalanced stripes of varying widths.  These energetic, vibrant stripes are inspired by the celebrated serape patterns of Saltillo, Mexico, and woven in Pendleton's Pacific Northwest mills. A lighter weight makes these blankets just right for late summer and early fall.

This blanket is only made in Robe size (64" x 79"), the size preferred by Native Americans for gifting and ceremonial purposes.  A Robe size blanket fits a twin or full-size bed, and works well as a throw, a wearable wrap, wall hanging, or folded at the foot of a bed.
