Based on Hardy's new Ultralite rod design, the LL version is designed and built specifically for nymph fishing and particularly the growing Euro nymphing style. This is the model that Hardy’s head designer Howard Croston used to win the 2020 FIPS World Championship where the Euro style nymphing is the name of the game. In short, it's built amazingly lightweight and sensitive. And, it may very well be the first tight-line rod that still works well for conventional fly fishing. Hardy chose to make the Ultralite LL with spigot ferrules seldom seen anymore which provide a more seamless transition between rod sections, creating a rod that’s more sensitive than one with sleeve-over ferrules.
