(with scope), 65 cm (25 5/8") nitro proved Bohler fluid steel barrels with dual rib extensions, quarter rib with fixed blade rear sight and low height from ramp sight, factory rib inset claw quick-detach mounts in rib, bottom barrel mount front sling swivel, barrel engraved on right "Gebruder Merkel, Suhl" and on left "Heinrich Fettkotter, Osnabruck", ejectors, full sideplated boxlock action with Kersten style double locks, engraved on both sides of action in fine game scenes with animals in extra fine Bulino style featuring Stag/Elk on left in woodland scene and Boar and Dog on right also in woodland scene, bottom with fine scroll work and "Suhl Er Waffenwerk" and "Gebruder Merkel Suhl" in banners, top tang mounted non-automatic safety, double triggers, European walnut stock with strong fiddleback figure, shadowline cheekpiece, three-piece forend with wrap checkering and horn forend tip, drop points, gold stock oval with initials "DW", 13 7/8" LOP over a horn butt plate, straight grip. Comes with a period Kahles 2.3-7x variable scope in quick detach claw mounts. Excellent condition rifle showing only minor use and wear for it's age. No issues to report. Very nice double rifle without German date codes which should put it pre-1922.
