Winchester 71 Deluxe, second year production circa 1936, .348 Win., Deluxe model with fancy pistol grip and hard rubber Winchester cap, factory checkering, inletted rear sling swivel and front swivel on steel forend tip, and long tang, 24" barrel with adjustable rear sight and hooded front sight, round barrel stamped "Made in the USA, Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Conn." on the right and "Winchester Proof Steel, Model 71, Winchester Trade Mark, 348 W.C.F." on the left, 8 lbs. 3 oz., checkered steel shotgun style butt plate, steel forend tip, 2/3 length tube magazine.  This rifle looks to have all original finishes and is in excellent condition, receiver blue about 94%, barrel blue about 97%, lever blue about 95%, wood has excellent finish with a few minor handling marks with forend with a 1/2" patch of indentions likely from a rack, bore looks excellent and pit free.  A fine specimen of a model 71 Deluxe which was an improved version of the 1886 model and made in it's second year of production.
